This winter sangria is SO GOOD.
This recipe is really up to you- there are so many ways you can make a sangria and this is my take on a winterized version. You can use this as a baseline, add to it, tweak it, or create your own, be inspired!

Ingredients:
1 Bottle of Red Table Wine - I used Anthony Road
Wassail Juice from Trader Joe's.
Champagne (nothing fancy)
1 Orange, Sliced
You can use any Red table wine that you normally would use for a Sangria or simply a red table wine you really enjoy. I used Tony's Red table wine from Anthony Road winery in the Finger Lakes.
Add in if you don't have Wassail Juice nearby, you can use cranberry juice or maybe even a mix of cranberry and apple cider. This is what creates the "winter" sangria. Shout out to my momma for always snagging the goods from Trader Joe's for me!
Instructions:
Pour the bottle of wine into a pitcher.
Add in Wassail juice (or juice of choice) - approximately an equal amount to the wine. We didn't actually measure, we just went for it but leave enough space in your pitcher for Champagne.
Top off your pitcher with champagne. In the video below, I used almost the full bottle. I used the remaining to top off the glasses.
Add in your orange slices and save a couple for your drink garnish.
Add ice to your drinking glass and pour yourself a delicious winter sangria!
The wassail juice is a great choice if you can grab it because it has cinnamon, clove, & orange peel flavor in it. If you don't have wassail juice, add a few cinnamon sticks to your mix to add the flavor. This is great for the holidays or simply a great winter drink!
Let me know if you try this or if you created your own Winter Sangria!
