The Paloma is one of my favorite tequila drinks. I love me a margarita but did you know that the Paloma is actually more popular than the Margarita in Mexico?
It has similarities, tequila & lime, but the difference is the grapefruit. The splash of citrus adds a delicious and refreshing taste and look to the drink.
There are many ways you can make one but here's how I whipped up mine:
Ingredients:
Tequila Blanco
Grapefruit Juice
Lime
Sparkling Grapefruit Water
Optional: Fresh Basil Leaves
Directions:
You can actually skip the cocktail shaker and make this right in your glass but I'm using this tall tumbler so it's easier to use the shaker in this case - totally your choice on this.
Muddle a lime wedge with a few basil leaves at the bottom of your glass.
Add ice
In shaker (or glass) add 1.5 oz tequila
Add 2.5-3 oz grapefruit juice
Add 1 lime, squeezed
Pour into your glass and top it off with sparkling grapefruit water.
Enjoy!
